French Guiana: Ariane 5 Rocket launches two satellites into orbit

Arianespace launched two satellites into orbit from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou on Tuesday, February 5.

According to reports, one of the satellites carries two payloads — the Saudi Geostationary Satellite 1 (SGS-1) and Hellas Sat 4 (HS-4).

According to Arianespace's official description of the mission, the SGS-1/HS-4 combo "will provide telecommunications capabilities, including television, Internet, telephone and secure communications in the Middle East, South Africa and Europe."

The two telecommunications satellites were launched by the 103rd Ariane 5 mission.
