
Jordan: Yemen warring sides talk prisoner exchange in Amman
Delegates of Houthi forces and Yemeni government met in Amman on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of a prisoner swap agreement struck in December 2018.
UN Secretary General for Yemen Martin Griffiths explained, that the purpose of the two-day meeting was "to finalise the lists of prisoners and detainees to be released and exchanged."
Griffiths, who spoke at a presser before the meeting, added that the meeting could serve as "an indicator of the degree to which the parties can make progress together."
Yemeni warring parties had reached an agreement regarding the prisoner exchange during their meetings in Sweden in December 2018 however implementation had stalled since.
