An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashed during a test flight in Bengaluru on Friday with both pilots reportedly being killed after ejecting from the aircraft.
Footage shows the burning remains of the French-built Dassault Mirage 2000 fighter jet which crashed during takeoff after receiving an upgrade.
India's ageing fleet of Mirage fighters was acquired in 1985 but the government approved a multi-billion dollar upgrade package in 2011, which includes a new cockpit design and new radar amongst other alterations, with the first upgraded models being delivered in 2015.
