Russia: US sanctions against Venezuelan oil company PVDSA ‘unlawful’ – Russian energy minister
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak described US sanctions against Venezuelan oil company PVDSA are “unlawful,” during a press conference with Algerian Finance Minister Abdurrahman Rawia in Moscow on Wednesday.
“We believe that the sanctions are unlawful, violate international law and interfere in the economic activities in the regions,” he said.
Talking about Russia’s oil output, Novak said “we are making every effort to achieve the indicators, which are under the [OPEC+] agreement from December 2018.”
“The markets are calm now. There is practically no volatility, if there is any, it’s insignificant. That’s why at least Russia does not see the need for an extraordinary OPEC+ meeting,” he added.
He also expressed the desire to increase trade with Algeria. “We are interested in our Algerian partners buying the Sukhoi Superjet and other technical equipment,” Novak said.
