Austria: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kurz discuss climate change and R20
Actor and climate change campaigner Arnold Schwarzenegger held a meeting with Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in Vienna on Tuesday, where they discussed the fight against the climate change and the preparations for the third R20 Austrian Summit.
“I am very thankful that Arnold Schwarzenegger is here visiting Vienna and I am very thankful for the good co-operation in relation to the R20 summit, a very decisive event in the fight against climate change,” Kurz said.
During the meeting, Schwarzenegger gave Kurz a pair of skis, which were produced for the R20 event.
Reportedly, sector projects will be financed within the framework of the Austrian Summit from the sale of the skis in retail.
The native Austrian emphasised the importance of ensuring that everyone is involved in such topics as the climate change and pollution.
“We know that climate protection is essential and that we have to fight against the polluting of the world. We have to do everything possible, everyone has to work together,” Schwarzenegger said.
“We are talking together about the 28 May, about the climate summit which will be organised in Vienna,” he added.
The R20 AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT is a top-level summit about leadership on implementing the Paris Climate Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The next summit is expected to start on May 28, 2019.
