Spain: Atleti's Simeone 'respects' fans' anger over Morata signing
Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone did not condemn fans who chanted against the expected signing of Spain striker Alvaro Morata during his side's 2-0 victory at home against Getafe on Saturday.
"I always respect the opinions of supporters in the stands, they can shout whatever they want. I respect them. Nothing else to say," said the Argentine.
Atleti fans are divided over Chelsea's Morata, who is a product of archrival Real Madrid's academy and played for them for several years.
Morata is expected to join on loan from the London club in the coming days.
On the pitch, Atletico won 2-0 against Madrid-based Getafe thanks to goals from Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez meaning they are back to within two points of league leaders Barcelona.
