      Austria: Protesters condemn annual Freedom Party ball in the Hofburg

      Thousands took to the streets of Vienna on Friday to condemn the annual ball organised by the Freedom Party of Austria, which is often criticised for apparent far-rights policies.

      Organised under the banner 'Offensive against right', protesters marched on the ball's venue in Hofburg Palace which was heavily guarded by the police.

      "We as protesters are against the far right, against the sexists, the racists from the whole of Europe, and probably even the whole world," said a protester.
