Watch this rodeo-bullfight where anyone can join in!
Costa Rican-style bullfighting sees spectators taking on bulls in a rodeo-cum-bullfight. Santa Cruz hosted once such event on Sunday.
Unlike Spanish-style bullfighting, the Costa Rican variant of the sport avoids harm or death to the animal - with any attacks on the bull punishable by law.
Anybody can take part in so-called 'Tico-style' bullfights. Spectators brave enough to do so are known as 'improvisados' and their only goal is to escape the bull's wrath.
Many tried their hand at it, some successfully and others less so.
