Russia: Muller probe has no evidence of Trump conspiring with Moscow – Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that special counsel Robert Mueller and his Russia probe have not revealed any evidence of the alleged cooperation between the US President Donald Trump and Russian authorities. Lavrov was speaking during his annual press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
“Muller will soon have been working for two years, has interviewed dozens if not hundreds of people, there have been no leaks which would have confirmed the accusations of collusion between President Trump and Russia, there have been no facts presented and no leaks,” Lavrov said, adding that a lack of leaks was unusual for the American political system.
Talking about accusations that President of the United States Donald Trump is “basically a Russian agent,” Lavrov said “I believe that this is just such a deterioration in the standards of journalism for the American press and such an unpleasant business, that I can't believe that journalists in the United States honestly and professionally deal with these issues.”
More than 500 media representatives have been accredited for the large press conference at Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
