India: 'Go ahead and murder that person' - university vice-chancellor offers advice to students
The Vice-Chancellor of Purvanchal University Raja Ram Yadav appeared to call on students to beat and kill adversaries should they find themselves in a fight. Ram Yadav made the comments at a college function in Ghazipur on Saturday.
"If you are students of Purvanchal University, never come crying to me. Let me tell you one thing: If you ever happen to be involved in a scuffle with someone, beat him up. If it is possible for you, go ahead and murder that person. We will take care of it later," said Ram Yadav.
Ram Yadav's remark has prompted a series of calls for his resignation.
