Peru: Shamans perform New Year's rituals for Putin, Trump and Kim Jong Un
A group of shamans performed rituals to welcome in the New Year on a beach near Lima, Thursday, using portraits of Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The shamans performed various rituals with each poster including: hitting them with flowers, chanting over them and dunking them in the sea.
One shaman explained that the ceremony was intended to bring "strength and energy to the whole world so that there is peace and tranquility."
Another shaman predicted good things for 2019, saying: "with Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and the president of North Korea [Kim Jong-un] we have seen a little tension, but in 2019 that will decrease."
