
Italy: Etna-triggered earthquake hits Sicily, injures at least 28
At least 28 people have been injured near the Sicilian city of Catania after an earthquake triggered by the Mount Etna volcano rattled the region early on Wednesday.
The 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck at 03:19 local time (02:19 GMT) near the town of Viagrande, in what was the strongest of dozens of tremors that occurred since Mount Etna erupted on Monday.
Footage shows damaged buildings and debris strewn across streets and squares in the municipalities of Zafferana Etna, Santa Venerina and Pennisi.
Ten people had to be hospitalised with light injuries from falling debris, according to reports.
There were reports of damages in other municipalities across the area, as well as of shaking buildings in Catania.
