UAE: 'We should be proud' - Al Ain FC head coach on Club World Cup final
Al Ain FC head coach Zoran Mamic said his side should be proud of what they achieved, despite losing 4-1 to Real Madrid while speaking at a post-match press conference in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
"We have to learn from this tournament how it is to play with big guys but by the other side, we have to be proud of what we have achieved. Nobody I think before the tournament counted with Al Ain the final game. That's why we have to be proud, we have to be happy," said Mamic.
Mamic also commented on his future, stating that "it's not a secret that my dream is be manager or coach in Europe but I'm now here and I'm very happy here. I have to be thankful to Al Ain to give me chance to be part of this big club and to be coach of one of the biggest teams in the area. But in the future, we never know."
Real Madrid beat Al-Ain in the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup final, with a result of 4-1. Luca Modric, Marcos Llorente, Sergio Ramos, and an own goal by Al-Ain's Yahia Nader, clinched the result. Tsukasa Shiotani scored the only goal for Al Ain FC.
