      UK: Man United fans slam Mourinho as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes the hotseat

      Manchester United fans welcomed the news that former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be replacing sacked coach Jose Mourinho on Wednesday, as they gathered outside Old Trafford following the Norwegian's appointment.

      "I think that Mourinho has been miserable as sin for the last 6-12 months and I think it's a fantastic decision for the club," one fan said.

      Another said: "Ole would come in and steady the ship a bit, he's well known round the club, and I think everyone respects him."

      Manchester Utd sacked Mourinho on Tuesday, due to a combination of poor results, unrest in the dressing room and failings in the transfer market.

      On Wednesday, former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as the club's interim boss until the end of the season.
