Spain: ‘Unique’ Zidane is ‘incomparable’ – new Real Madrid boss Solari
Real Madrid's newly appointed full-time manager Santiago Solari said that his predecessor Zinedine Zidane is "incomparable to anyone" while speaking at a press conference in the Spanish capital on Friday.
"Zidane is legend of this club because he played at such a fantastic level, as a footballer," the Argentine said. "Above all, I look at him as a man, as a human, we have to admire his greatness. He is unique."
Solari went on to say that taking the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu is a "huge and beautiful responsibility."
The former midfielder, who made 131 appearances as a player in the Spanish capital, was promoted after two years as the club's B team manager following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.
It marks Solari's first senior role in the hotseat and comes following a successful spell as caretaker.
