USA: Trump warns pardoned Thanksgiving turkey off Democrats
'Peas' and 'Carrots' were the lucky turkeys pardoned by US President Donald Trump on the White House lawn on Tuesday.
The Thanksgiving tradition means that two turkeys will be spared their fate in the holiday season.
The president used the pardoning ceremony to take a few jabs at the Democrats.
"Even though Peas and Carrots have received a presidential pardon, I have warned them that House Democrats are likely to issue them both subpoenas," Trump said.
"Unfortunately I cannot guarantee that your pardons won't be enjoined by the ninth circuit. Always happens," he added.
