
Philippines: Duterte greets Xi as leaders sign deals, agree to boost ties
Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte greeted his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Manila on Tuesday, in a visit that saw the leaders sign 29 deals including one on oil and gas exploration.
Footage shows Xi being greeted by a welcoming ceremony that included a military band and dancers.
Xi and Duterte also reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on China's 'Belt and Road Initiative,' and agreed to reinforce ties.
Xi's two-day state visit to the Philippines marks the first visit of a Chinese president to Manila in 13 years.
