      Syria: Russian fifth-generation Su-57 performs combat flights

      Russian Ministry of Defence released footage of the new fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft performing combat flights in Syria on Monday.

      The MoD said in a statement that the flights were to test the plane's technical characteristics, intellectual information control technology, on-board systems and armament amid high temperatures. In total more than ten flights were conducted, the ministry added.

      The fifth-generation jet is designed to destroy all types of air, ground and surface targets.
