Mexico: More than 3,000 migrants stranded in Oaxaca town

More than 3,000 migrants travelling in a caravan through Mexico are stranded in the town of Juchitan de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, as shown in footage shot on Wednesday.

The migrants, who have left Honduras and other countries in a mass exodus, reportedly arrived on Monday from the town of Niltepec and have not been able to leave due to a complication with buses.

The People Without Borders Organisation have reportedly requested support from the government of the state of Oaxaca and the federal government so that they can offer trucks or trailers to transport women and children.

"We can't do it anymore. Not anymore. More because of the children. We have several children, women, it's about time we don't walk anymore because it's been a lot of time," Honduran migrant Cindi Rosales said.

An estimated 50 buses would reportedly be required to transport the women and children of the first caravan to Mexico City.

Many migrants have been travelling for more than two weeks, since a group first formed in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The migrants in Juchitan de Zaragoza must still travel around 1,100km (700 miles) to reach the US border.
