      Thousands of protesters from across Spain took to the streets in Madrid on Saturday, to protest against poor living standards.

      Political parties, unions and pressure groups joined the rally, under the slogan 'If we move forward, we change everything'.

      Protesters carried flags and banners in support of a publicly-funded pension scheme and public education system.
