USA: Russian ambassador seeks to boost US-Russian regional ties during Utah visit
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov sought to boost US-Russian regional business links during his visit Salt Lake City in Utah on Tuesday.
Antonov met with Utah Governor Gary Herbert, President and CEO of World Trade Center in Utah Miles Hansen and also paid a visit to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
“We are not ignoring the fact that there are disagreements at the national level, but we believe that engagement is important because of those disagreements and as we are engaging on the arts and education in innovation with trade and commerce and investment, then we will be able to see solutions to our problems more easily,” Hansen said.
Talking to journalists outside the World Trade Centre, Antonov said that the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty would deal a “serious, or even possibly irreparable, blow” to the system of agreements on strategic security.
