Turkey: Saudi Arabia sends investigative team to consul's residence - reports
Saudi Arabia sent an investigative team to the Saudi consul general's residence in Istanbul on Wednesday, to probe the Khashoggi case, according to media reports. Cars were seen pulling up at the compound before their occupants entered the residence.
Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi had gone to the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, to prepare documents for his upcoming marriage but has not been seen since. His fiancee claims to have waited outside for 11 hours but says he did not return.
So far, Saudi authorities maintain that Khashoggi left the building on the same afternoon as his visit.
US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have since reiterated that King Salman and Saudi officials denied knowledge of what happened to Khashoggi.
