
Portugal: Hurricane Leslie hits Coimbra leaving 15,000 homes without power
More than 15,000 homes were left without power, after Hurricane Leslie swept Coimbra overnight on Saturday.
Winds with speed of up to 176km/h (109mph) brought down hundreds of trees, traffic lamps and road signs.
There have been no reports of casualties, but officials advised local residents to avoid the streets as much as possible.
The hurricane, the worst since 1842 in Portugal, is heading over northern Spain.
