
Argentina: Russian swimmers win most individual Golds at Youth Olympic Games
Russia shined at the final night in the swimming pool, winning the most individual gold medals at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games on Saturday in Buenos Aires.
Kliment Kolesnikov won his sixth gold when he added the men’s 200m Backstroke title to the 50m and 100m Backstroke. The 18-year-old finished over two seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Andrei Minakov also won his sixth gold with a victory in the men’s 100m Freestyle. Polina Egorova was crowned in the women’s 100m Butterfly.
But the Russians were beaten by their Chinese rivals in the 4x100m Mixed Medley Relay, leaving the team settling for silver.
The Youth Olympic Games have been running since 2010, showcasing the talents of the world's best athletes between the ages of 15 and 18.
