Kazakhstan: CSTO holds huge night drills for Poisk 2018 military exercise

The Collective Security Treaty Organisation held combat drills called ‘Poisk-2018' on Kazakhstan’s Gvardeisky training ground in the early hours on Friday morning.

The final stage of the exercise involved landing, combat firing, and the use of aircraft, artillery, anti-aircraft installations and other military equipment.

Special-purpose groups from Armenia and the Russian Federation and assault troops from Kazakhstan took part in large-scale night exercises.

According to the CSTO, assault groups operated using six Arlan armoured vehicles, six Tiger armoured vehicles and nine Ford Ranger, Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Navara high cross-country vehicles.
