
Germany: Erdogan arrives to Berlin for formal visit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived at Berlin's Tegel Airport, Thursday, for his first formal visit to Germany.
Erdogan and his wife [Emine Erdogan] were received with full honours by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who will host a dinner for the Turkish leader at Berlin's Bellevue palace on Friday.
Erdogan is also scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel for talks on Friday afternoon and again on Saturday, before flying out to Cologne to inaugurate a newly built Mosque.
Protests against Erdogan's visit to Germany are expected to be held throughout his stay in the country.
