
Kyrgyzstan: Host country leads World Nomad Games on fourth day
The Kyrgyz team has so far won 43 medals in the World Nomad Games in the Kyrchin Tract as of the fourth day of the tournament on Wednesday.
Kazakhstan is in second place with 32 medals, while Russia holds third place.
About 2,000 athletes from nearly 80 countries are taking part in 37 types of traditional sports competitions, such as belt wrestling, horse racing, traditional Central Asia hunting, horseback wrestling, folk wrestling.
The first edition of the World Nomad Games, which aimed to revive the cultures of nomadic people across the region, was held in Kyrgyzstan in September 2014. The games were initiated by Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev together with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
