      Finland: Macron arrives in Helsinki to discuss military partnerships

      French President Emmanuel Macron was received with a military gala by Finnish President Sauli Niinisto at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, Wednesday.

      Macron and his wife Brigitte will be welcomed with a gala dinner by Niinisto and his wife Jenni Haukio for his official visit to the country.

      The French president will remain in the Finnish capital for a summit in which he is expected to discuss military partnerships beyond the EU and NATO. They will also touch on issues of relations with Russia and the US, Arctic questions, climate change and "the state of the rules-based multilateral international order", according to an official press release.
