SOT, Ricardo Delgado, Venezuelan migrant (Spanish): "Listen, we are not all equal. We can't all pay just for one. Do you understand me? Because there are many who are good and many who are bad. Many parents, we came to work for our families."

A group of Brazilians protested against the influx of Venezuelans in the border town of Pacaraima on Saturday, with demonstrators blaming the migrants for an alleged increase of the local crime rate.

Brazilian protesters were seen shouting at Venezuelan migrants and accusing them of stealing.

"We are human beings. We are not taking anything away [from them] because we are sleeping on the floor, on a piece of cardboard," Venezuelan migrant Ricardo Delgado said.

"I feel scared. My children are scared, they have the fear that 'mum, they will burn me,'" said another, Xiomayira Munoz.

The protest was initiated by the Macuxi indigenous people, who complain the federal government takes care of the Warao indigenous ethnic group, from north-eastern Venezuela, instead of providing health and home services to them.

Pacaraima has been under pressure since Brazilians attacked Venezuelan refugee camps last weekend. Locals reportedly burned the Venezuelan's belongings, prompting many to run back to the other side of the border.

Some 2.3 million Venezuelans have fled their homeland since 2014 in search of a better life as the economic crisis grips the oil-rich nation.
