Peru: Venezuelan migrants rush to beat new passport rules
Thousands of Venezuelan migrants poured into Peru on Friday at Tumbes, the main crossing with northern neighbours Ecuador, before stricter rules are enforced on entering the country.
People carrying all their remaining possessions waited for hours in long queues before finally crossing the border.
Ecuador and Peru have started the process of tightening their entry requirements as the streams of refugees continue to flow.
Both countries will now require passports upon entry, something which is difficult for Venezuelans to obtain.
Some 2.3 million Venezuelans have fled their homeland since 2014 in search of a better life as the economic crisis grips the oil-rich nation.
