      Egypt: Yemeni President Hadi meets Arab League Chief Gheit in Cairo

      Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi met with Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit at the AL general secretariat's premises in Cairo on Tuesday.

      Hadi and Gheit discussed the situation in Yemen, according to a statement published by the AL the day before.

      This is the third visit of the Yemeni president to Egypt since March 2015.

      The Yemeni conflict between the Houthi groups loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and forces supporting the current leader Hadi has been ongoing since 2015.
