USA: Wildfire spreads across northern California
Residents refused to be cowed by wildfires in Mendocino and Lake Counties on Wednesday.
Local law enforcement issued mandatory evacuation notices to residents of Lakeport and Kelseyville.
The towns were eerily quiet, although many have chosen to remain with their property for fear of looters.
The so-called 'Western Fire' claimed another 10,000 acres (40.5 sq/km). Dry, hot and windy conditions continue to fuel the flames.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
