
Russia: Construction begins on Kerch Strait Bridge Railway
Construction on a railway across the Kerch Strait Bridge has commenced, as shown in footage released on Wednesday.
The bridge connects the Crimean Peninsula with the Krasnodar Region.
The road on the bridge was officially opened in May, while the cargo and railway crossings are expected to be opened sometime in 2019.
The construction of the 19-kilometre (11.8-mile) bridge, the longest in Russia, has been underway since February 2016.
