
Afghanistan: Ghani lauds NATO involvement in Afghanistan
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani commented on NATO involvement in the country, speaking at a press conference in Kabul on Saturday.
"The US president Donald Trump and all speeches appreciated Afghan Security forces during NATO member's summit in Brussels, and appreciated Afghan security's sacrifices, NATO members promised that they will support, train and outfit Afghan Security and defensive forces until 2024. They have welcomed fighting corruption in Afghanistan as well," he said.
Ghani also commented on the recent meetings he had with EU officials and their impression of the country recent elections: "According to my separate summit with Donald Tusk [Chairman of the Europe Council] and Federica Mogherini [High Representative of European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy] I have shown that we will hold transparent election process and on time."
