Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), before holding a private meeting with Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Vienna on Friday.
The summit is chaired by the EU's High Representative Federica Mogherini.
Participants of the meeting are expected to discuss the commission's next steps following the US withdrawal from the deal.
JCPOA, known unofficially as the Iranian nuclear deal, is an internationally-agreed-upon settlement which aims to limit Iran's nuclear programme in exchange for the gradual lifting of international sanctions.
El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Rusia, Sergei Lavrov, se reunió el viernes con los miembros de la Comisión Conjunta del Plan Integral de Acción Conjunta antes de celebrar una reunión privada con el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Irán, Mohammad Javad Zarif, en Viena.
La cumbre está presidida por la Alta Representante de la UE, Federica Mogherini.
Se espera que los participantes de la reunión debatan los próximos pasos posteriores al anuncio de EE. UU. de que se retira del acuerdo.
