Russia: Sampaoli warns against hasty conclusions after Argentina crash out
Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli and France's man-of-the-match Kylian Mbappe spoke after the French knocked Argentina out 4-3 from World Cup Round of 16 in Kazan on Saturday.
Sampaoli warned against making hasty judgements after 'concrete mistakes' saw his side crash out of the tournament.
Noting that the French team was 'very, very fast in transitions,' he argued that Argentina had been capable of turning the tie on its head.
"We were able to change the match, but after a very short time during a very strange game we lost our advantage," Sampaoli said.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe whose two goals helped to carry the French team to the quarter finals said that any World Cup gives an opportunity for a footballer to 'show what you can do and your abilities.'
"There is no better place than a World Cup," he concluded.
