The brother-in-law of Spain’s King Felipe VI, Inaki Urdangarin, was given five days to report to prison in order to serve a five-year-and-ten-month sentence for charges of embezzlement, fraud, tax evasion and trading in influence.Images show dozens of reporters waiting in front of the Provincial Court of Palma, as Urdangarin arrived for the hearing of his sentence. Some of them shouted at him ‘thief’ and ‘Borbon to jail.’The high-profile corruption trial, which came to be dubbed as ‘The Noose Case’, marks the first time a member of the Spanish royal family has been brought to trial. Urdangarin was charged with embezzling €5.6 million ($6.11 million) in public funds through his non-profit company, the Noos Institute and other associated companies.A Spanish court acquitted his wife Infanta Cristina of tax fraud earlier in February.
