SOT, Journalist (German): “What do you want to achieve by this city run?”

SOT, Max Weber, Organiser of relay race against armx exports (German): “We want to achieve stopping of the major arms supplies, we want to appeal to the German government to fulfill our demand, we want Germany to stop major arms supplies.”

SOT, Journalist (German): “But it is impossible to stop all the arms supplies.”

SOT, Max Weber, Organiser of relay race against armx exports (German): “Basically, it means that there can be exceptions in the strictly regulated cases, but the main goal for us, and that’s why we stand here at the main railway station, is that the company’s small arms’ exports should be prohibited.”

SOT, Journalist (German): “Have you tried contacting the management of the company?”

SOT, Max Weber, Organiser of relay race against armx exports (German): "We repeatedly tried to contact the company but our attempts were blocked in most cases. That is why we stand here to make a statement. And we know from people that our standing here annoys them.”

SOT, Journalist (German): “How many people are you expecting today?”

SOT, Max Weber, Organiser of relay race against armx exports (German): “We already gathered here, near the church, already more than 200 people today. This means that we expect several hundred people to take part in demonstrations. From here 30 people will set off for the journey, 30 female and male runners, and then, at the second stage, there will be 70 or 80 people. “

Anti-gun activists kicked off a relay race for peace in front of the headquarters of arms manufacturers Heckler & Koch in the German city of Oberndorf on Monday.

Hundreds of people participated in a rally in front of the H&K gates as the relay race started. Demonstrators chanted, released balloons to the sky and held anti-arms trade banners.

Six former employees of Heckler & Koch began their trial in Stuttgart on Tuesday, under accusation of illegally exporting of thousands of G36 assault rifles to Mexico.
