
USA: Man detained after exchange of gunfire at Trump golf resort
A man who was ranting about US President Donald Trump, fired shots and exchanged gunfire with police at Trump’s golf resort near Miami in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police shot and wounded the unnamed man, who is now in custody. There were no further victims.
The area is on lockdown, with police cars controlling access to the resort.
Miami-Dade police director Juan Perez said the suspect was shouting about Trump, and “actively shooting.”
The Trump National Doral Golf Club is an 800-acre resort near Miami. The billionaire property mogul bought the club in 2012 for $150 million (€127 million).
