Alibaba founder and chief executive Jack Ma met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem during his first visit to Israel on Wednesday.

The pair shared jokes about Alibaba's dominance of the retail market, before sitting down for one-to-one talks.

The Chinese tech entrepreneur also said Israel was more "peaceful" than he had expected.

The Israeli government is trying to woo the Alibaba Group into investing in what Netanyahu described as the "innovation nation".
