Belgium: Saudi upbeat after losing 4-0 in World Cup friendly

Saudi Arabia was beat 4-0 by Belgium on Tuesday in a pre-World Cup friendly in King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

Speaking in press conference, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez expressed his satisfaction over the result: "In average all the camp has been a real success, because we have been able to work individually, players got what they need in this important part of the season. From that point a performance with four goals, with a lot of chances and a good focus to get a clean sheet. That is a good satisfying camp now to look forward to the next seven weeks to get the information we need to make the final selection".

"I need to make my hardest part of the job - within the next seven weeks trying to make sure we get a squad of forty players down to twenty three. Today we still have a couple of players that I feel they had a big role in qualifying campaign. They have got as good chances as any other players who were here. So it's a very difficult task but I need to make the ... that they are right for the team and that they will give us best possible opportunity in Russia to be as balanced as we can," said Martiney about the selection of players who will play the World Cup in Russia next June.

“I think that little by little we are strengthening the idea that we have. We know that we have things to improve; we confront one of strongest rivals of the world, one of the candidates to win the World Cup,” said Saudia Arabia coach Juan Antonio Pizzi,
