
China: Thousands flock to Wuhan to witness cherry blossom
Thousands of people flocked to Wuhan University in central China on Thursday to witness the annual cherry blossom blooming season.
The university has created an online booking system to control the number of visitors on campus who want to see the Japanese sakura bloom from mid-March to early April.
The blossom trees in Wuhan University were a gift from former Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanakain in 1972.
Another one hundred cherry blossom trees were sent to Wuhan University in 1982.
