Three members from the French government's Committee on Investigating Incidents and a further four employees from the factory which produced the downed ATR aeroplane arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday.

An Aseman Airlines ATR-72 went down on Sunday in foggy weather, crashing into Mount Dena with at least 66 people on board, all of whom are feared dead.

With the assistance of the Iranian engineers, the French specialists are set to continue investigating the crash site.

Local rescuers are still tending to the area using helicopters.

The Deputy of the Isfahan Red Crescent Dariush Karimi said the search operation was still in progress despite the area being covered "by heavy snow."

However, the transportation of the victims' bodies was suspended due to the poor weather conditions and the plane's black box is yet to be found.
