Russia: Mother of injured Perm school student recalls panic and screams

Russian Federation, Moscow
January 16, 2018 at 23:04 GMT -00:00 · Published

Ekaterina Sattarova, mother of an injured in a knife rampage student at Perm's School 127 recounted a terrifying moment of the attack during an interview in Moscow, Tuesday.

"There was panic, screams," she said, adding that her son's words were, "I got immediately deaf, I could not hear anything."

Sattarova said the attack occurred when "a teenager appeared suddenly and stabbed the teacher in the neck with his left hand." She, however, could not recall what happened next. "We do not know whether they were attacking each other or what was going on."

Talking about Lev Bidzhakov, one of the attackers, the mother of wounded student said he used to go to her son's judo class, however, was expelled by a coach "as soon as he began to show inadequate behaviour."

Sattarova said that she fears appearance of "admirers" of the School 127 attackers. In the night following the attack Sattarova learned about a group called 'Killer' which appeared to spur "destructive attitudes."

"It is proposed to kill [ a person]. The victim will be voiced by the group administrator in private messages," she said.

The knife attack which left 13 people injured occurred on Monday morning when two teenagers broke into the lesson of 10-11-year-old students and began stabbing them with knives at School 127 in the Russian city of Perm.

The teacher and one of the students are said to be in critical condition following the assault.

The Russian investigation committee has already triggered the case as an assassination attempt.
