
France: Palestinian Pres. Abbas meets Macron for talks in Paris
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Friday, to meet French President Emmanuel Macron.The two leaders had a meeting at the palace and later held a joint briefing, where Abbas noted that the US is no longer a mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.Earlier, Macron announced his dedication to the 'two-state solution' of the Middle East crisis.The visit comes after the United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly against US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Thursday.The final count came in at 128 countries voting in favour of a draft measure that states Trump's decision as "null and void."
