"Our athletes are all strong personalities," Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov stated during a press-conference in Moscow, Thursday, to discuss the country’s chances at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

"So I am sure that all the difficulties they will have to face, which they are facing with now, will only unite them and allow them to show the best results,” he added.

He continued saying that “we approved at the governmental level a set of measures aimed at preventing and combating doping in Russian sport.”

Russian athletes will participate in the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang under the Olympic flag after the decision of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee to temporarily suspend the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee.
