
Georgia: Several anti-LGBT demonstrators detained in Tbilisi
Six anti-LGBT protesters were detained after attempting to throw fire-crackers into the building of Georgian Football Federation in Tbilisi on Tuesday, according to local police.
The rally was held in protest against the Georgian Football Federation's support for Georgian football player and vice-captain of national football team 'Vitesse Arnhem', Guram Kashia.Kashia recently wore a captain's armband with rainbow colours, symbolising his support for LGBT rights.
A rainbow-coloured flag was burnt during the demonstration. "We grew up in a different state, we think in a different way, we have a different state of mind. LGBT will never have a place in Georgia!", said participant in the demonstration, Giya Korkotashvili.
