Iraqi and Kurdish forces exchanged fire at their border in the town of Altun Kupri in Kirkuk, Friday, after a week of fighting which has seen Kurdish Peshmerga pushed from disputed territories in northern Iraq.
The oil-rich region of Kirkuk is claimed by both Iraqi Kurds and Baghdad. The past week has seen Iraqi forces take over much disputed territory previously controlled by the Peshmerga.
