Germany: Police crackdown on G20 protest camp in Hamburg
One person was arrested and at least three people injured when police carried out an operation to dismantle the tents of anti-G20 activists in Hamburg, Sunday.
Police confiscated 11 tents and used pepper spray on protesters who refused to dismantle them, stating that an overnight stay in the camp was prohibited.
Protesters linked arms to form chains as they attempted to defend their sleeping quarters.
Around 20,000 people are thought to have taken part in the main protest against the summit, marching through the central streets of the northern city with banners and flags demanding the summit's cancellation.
