Russia: ISS 58/59 mission carries out evacuation trainings in water
The 58/59 ISS mission carried out emergency water landing exercises at Russia's Emergency Ministry base in Noginsk, Moscow region, on Thursday.
"This is a very good training and we have such a good commander. The weather is great, better than in Houston!" stated NASA’s astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor.
"Some unexpected events could happen; we could land somewhere, where nobody is waiting for us and we’ll need to help ourselves" said Oleg Kononenko after the training.
The 58/59 ISS mission includes Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, Canadian David astronaut Saint-Jacques and American astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor. Their first joint expedition is planned for 2018.
